10.14.09 ~ Event #2: Queens with a chance of Meatballs

I guess for now ill just make notes here rather than tell a story.
2nd event played in EPT, 1st at the Jockey Club in Raynham roughly 56 people or so.
The buffet was good featuring warm rolls, a killer caesar salad, and pasta with meatballs to spare. I definitely ate my moneys worth tonight.
My future was up in the air at the break, up to 11K. I tripled up on one huge hand where the "Jon" was utg and raised. A looser player calls and I woke up to QQ. It felt good to see my hand hold and avoid any other over pairs. This hand sent me to the final 16 with about 35-40K.
Thats when i met Arthur. Big, happy guy, good to sit and play cards with. He not only sat to my immediate right at the final 16, where he picked up quite a few chips, but also ended up to my immeidate right for the FT (9 players, 4 pay, top 2 cash).
There we played with a hot table featuring tons of great hands. Then there were 5 left and King Arthur gets involved with a raised pot and ends up making a set i believe and taking out 3 players in one hand to send us heads up for the Win.
It was good heads up v. Arthur with my two biggest poker fans, danny and Jay, riding the rail. I made a few good plays and taking the chip lead with a pair of 99 v. arthurs QJ. Even with over 100K in chips i never really felt comfortable with the blinds at 10-20K and 20-40K. The got so big it became a shove or fold match with preflop play dictating the game and eventually Arthur was able to take me down with his J9 making a pair of 9s v. my J7 for 4 BB and the title. even though i lost i feel good about my win and made a big play against arthur where the board paired for a second time on the river to chop a pot i lead in at the turn.
It was an overall good experience with good food and some good cards and i walked out with the 2nd place cash of $50. Ill see you again Arthur, i will see you again....
