30K CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS

04/04/2009

888- EPT NATION

Untitled Document

The top 15% from each region were all invited in a tournament to play for a $5,000- cash pay-out. Of the players invited, 217 players from throughout EPT regions in New England came down to the Norwood Elks Lodge to play for their share of the montrous pay-out. Competition was not easy as the top points players of each region were all in attendance with their towering 12,000 starting stacks.

28miThroughout the tournament it seemed as if the players of Rhode Island ran a clinic at the points championships. Only 70 of the 170 invited players from RI actually made the "long" 30 minute trip north of Warwick resulting in 1/3 of the starting field (don't worry I too get nervous and nosebleeds traveling too far from home). But at the end of the day they were able to finish in 3/4 of the pay-out!

Actual play at the final table was a little strange as players were more interested in finding a way to create the most complicated "chop" imaginable instead of strategizing a way to win that monstrous $2,500- FIRST PRIZE. When the chop was finally configured and all parties agreed, there fleaflickrwas to be $400- automatically given to the top 9 with the person in 10th getting $200-. It was also agreed, that 'arbitration' would open back up for the remaining 3 players to decide on what they wanted to do with the remaining $1,000-. With the prize sheet looking more like a play action flea-flicker play, the final table was complete and players all received their prizes.

Only the participating players will ever know how exactly the chop was decided this way, but here was the final prize count and winnings for each player in the total of $5,000- . Congratulations to everyone who went deep in the tournament and we hope to see everyone at the next championships!
